My name is René Alssema. I live in the town of Nijverdal in the Netherlands. I am 67 years old and have been breeding canaries since I was 10 years old. I have about 50 breeding pairs. Mainly glosters and a few pairs of norwichs. Because of the many successes at home and abroad with my show glosters, many breeders know me all over the world. As an IGBA judge, I have been travelling the world judging glosters shows since 1990.
